Tree Hugga  Frequently Asked Questions

Do you prune trees?

No, we can top them but we are not arborists.

Who cleans up the debris after my tree is removed?

Talk to us before any trees are removed to see what will work best. We have a chipper (The Beast) and can mulch the tree(s) or can remove them and clean up.

Can I just remove the tree and leave the stump?

Yes but we don’t recommend this.

When is the best time to remove a tree?

It is immaterial, we can do it any time; however, it is more efficient if it is done when the ground is firm.

When should I consider removing a tree?

Removal is recommended when the tree:

  • Is dead or dying.
  • Is considered hazardous.
  • Is causing an obstruction that is impossible to correct through pruning.
  • Is crowding and causing harm to other trees.
  • Has root problems.
  • Is to be replaced by a more suitable specimen.
  • Should be removed to allow for new construction.

Tree Topping and Removal Services

Tree Removal

Our powerful "tree hugga" grabs and holds the trunk while the cutting blade cuts it through.  The top is then lowered to the ground in a safe, controlled manner. Trees with a diameter of up to 400mm at 8m high can be safely removed in this fashion, minimizing potential damage to buildings, fences, gardens, etc.

Tree Topping

We are able to safely and efficiently top a tree that might be blocking the sun or just grew too big for the spot. Talk to us about how we can manage this for you with minimum damage to the surrounding area.

Electrical Safety

Tree Hugga Tree Services has a working relationship with Orion and Mainpower. This ensures you receive the highest standard of care when we operate around your precious power supply.

Hedge Topping

Give that hedge a haircut! Ideally suited for dairy conversions lowering hedges for irrigation pivots etc. or for those hedges / shelter belt trees that have grown too tall and are blocking sunlight.
